In the peaceful rhythm of rural life, Becca and Adam, along with their vivacious 5-year-old daughter Acie, paint a picture of familial perfection. However, their idyllic world is shattered during a vibrant 4th of July celebration when a dreadful accident claims Adam's life. Consumed by grief and haunted by memories, Becca decides to distance herself from the poignant echoes of the family farm, leaving Acie in the caring hands of her grandfather Ben. In a quest to escape her sorrow, Becca turns to her old school friend, June. Despite June's well-meaning distractions, Becca spirals into a vortex of anger towards the divine, questioning her faith and succumbing to destructive habits, including alcoholism. Her downward spiral continues until her arrest prompts Ben to intervene, threatening to retain custody of Acie until Becca regains her equilibrium. As fate would have it, a serendipitous encounter with a stranger at a bus station provides Becca with a glimmer of hope and a path to redemption. A journey of self-discovery unfolds, laying the groundwork for her spiritual healing and a chance to rebuild the family bonds that were once threatened by her despair.
