In the 1970s, two FBI agents make a bold gamble on the future of law enforcement and open the doors into an understanding of serial killers never seen before. John Douglas is a visionary who thinks that some criminals can only be identified by building a profile of their personality and neuroses rather than seeking out means, motive, and opportunity. Together with the help of veteran cop Mark Olshaker, he sets out to educate American police departments on criminal profiling. But Douglas' goal of developing the science of criminal profiling will bring him to interview some of the most notorious criminals alive.
