In the fast-paced world of publishing, Thea Clayhill finds herself teetering on the edge of unemployment. As the impulsive secretary to the insufferably arrogant publisher Jerry Steinwald, her job hangs by a thread. Following a mishap involving her boss's cherished dog, Thea is faced with the imminent threat of dismissal. Desperate and cornered, she concocts an audacious lie - she is four months pregnant. Orphaned by a tragic car accident, Thea is the sole guardian of her younger sister, Emma. The threat of losing her job is not just about her livelihood, but Emma's as well. Hence, she decides to breathe life into her lie, maintaining the pretense of her pregnancy with the aid of her loyal friend, Lisa. As Jerry retreats on holiday, his brother Nick steps into his shoes, adding another layer to Thea's escalating deception.
