Plot

In the heart of the criminal underworld, a cunning rogue named Ralph Cotter stages a daring prison escape. His partner, Carleton, is mortally wounded in the process, and Ralph, without batting an eye, puts an end to his suffering with a swift bullet. Carleton's sister, Holiday, plays a pivotal role in Ralph's escape, even as she is manipulated by him into becoming his lover. As we journey back from the trial of the survivors, we witness Ralph's relentless pursuit of power. He masterfully ensnares two corrupt cops, Inspector Charles Weber and Lieutenant John Reece, in a web of blackmail and bribery. With the assistance of the unscrupulous lawyer, Keith 'Cherokee' Mandon, Ralph secures a new identity and a license for a firearm, fortifying his position in the world of crime. Holiday isn't the only woman caught in Ralph's cunning manipulations. He sets his sights on the wealthy Margaret Dobson, a gullible heiress. Despite warnings of her potential danger due to her influential father, Ezra Dobson, Ralph can't resist the lure of ambition. He disregards Mandon's advice, embarking on a perilous game of deception and seduction. Ralph's rapid ascent in the criminal hierarchy is powered by his unflinching amorality, culminating in a series of audacious robberies. Yet, his conquest of Margaret proves to be a gamble too far, posing a threat more lethal than any heist. As the plot unfurls, Ralph's ruthless ambition sets a sequence of tragic consequences in motion. The result is a gripping tale of manipulation, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of power, where one wrong move could mean kissing tomorrow goodbye.
