Plot

In the aftermath of the American Civil War, Joshua, an African-American soldier, embarks on a journey home, his heart heavy with the trials of war, yet light with the anticipation of reunion. However, as he nears his long-awaited destination, tragedy strikes. His mother, the anchor of his world, falls victim to a brutal attack by a gang of five merciless thugs. They also leave Sam, a close neighbor, severely wounded and steal away his newlywed bride. Upon Joshua's arrival, he is met not with the warm embrace of his mother, but the cold, bitter sting of her untimely demise. The local Sheriff and his posse, despite their efforts, return empty-handed from their hunt for the murderers, the hills nearby swallowing any trace of them. Fuelled by a burning desire for justice mixed with personal vengeance, Joshua takes matters into his own hands. He transforms from a soldier returning from war to a relentless bounty hunter, his sole mission - to track down and annihilate those responsible for his mother's murder. As he ventures into the rugged hills, each step is marked with determination, each breath heavy with the promise of retribution. "Joshua" is a heart-wrenching journey of a son's love, a soldier's resilience, and a man's unyielding quest for justice in a world fresh from the ravages of war.
