Plot

In the chilling narrative of Jonestown (2013), we follow a courageous woman as she braves the storm to expose the darkest side of a man worshipped as a beacon of hope - Jim Jones, the infamous cult leader. Set in the ominous backdrop of November 18, 1978, the day when a thousand souls tragically embraced death in the guise of 'revolutionary suicide', this story paints a haunting picture of manipulation and blind faith. This is the story of Jessica Levin, a dauntless reporter, who accompanies a U.S. Congressman on a mission to shed light on the disturbing rumors surrounding Jones's Peoples Temple Church. They find an unsettlingly cheerful community, their smiles as eerily uniform as their praises for Jones. As Levin navigates this labyrinth of deception, she finds herself in a showdown with the puppet master himself, Jim Jones. To expose the terrifying truth about Jonestown, she must pierce its facade of joy, and stand toe-to-toe with the architect of its horrific end.
