In "Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board," Vermont's teenage snowboarding victor, Johnny Kapahala, finds himself riding the tropical waves of Oahu, Hawaii. He's drawn back to his roots for the wedding of his grandfather, the renowned surf maestro, Johnny Tsunami. Amidst the thrill of surfing Kauai's legendary waves, he encounters his new kin, including the rebellious "Uncle Chris," his new step-grandmother's 12-year-old son. Resisting the impending nuptials, Chris seeks solace in the adrenaline-fueled world of mountain boarding, drawn to a crew governed by a teenage tyrant. Meanwhile, Johnny's grandfather and his bride-to-be inaugurate a surf shop, an inviting haven for both surfers and mountain boarders. Unwittingly, they spark a rivalry with a competing shop owner, igniting a battle for the heart of the boarder community. The young Chris's mischief brings about unforeseen challenges for both the wedding and the shop's grand opening. However, in the eye of the storm, Chris and Johnny form an unlikely alliance. Guided by Johnny, Chris navigates his way through family ties and territorial disputes, learning to carve his path amidst the dueling sports shops and within his newly blended family.
