In a world of broken homes, a fierce teenage runaway named Jacquelyn, or Jack, as she prefers, is on the run from the long arm of the law. She carries the weight of a mission: to earn enough money to liberate her younger sister Coke from the cold clutches of foster care. To do this, Jack infiltrates a suburban home, posing as a live-in aide for their 11-year-old autistic daughter, Glory. Jack, a hardened survivor of the streets, unexpectedly discovers a unique bond with Glory, the silent and enigmatic girl. As she unravels the mystery of connecting with Glory, she inadvertently allows herself to be impacted by the family, especially the matriarch, Kay.
