Plot

In the heart of Southern Italy's vibrant Naples, Philadelphia-based lawyer Mike Hamilton embarks on an unexpected journey. Tasked with settling the estate of his estranged, "black sheep" brother just days before his own wedding, Mike is swept into a whirlwind of familial discovery and cultural clash. He uncovers a surprising twist in his brother's legacy - an eight-year-old boy named Nando, the nephew he never knew he had. Nando, with his innocent charm and Italian-style upbringing, is under the care of Lucia Curcio, Mike's alluring sister-in-law. Lucia, a vivacious cabaret singer who dances under Naples' sultry nights, is far from the typical guardian. Her lax approach to child-rearing, albeit filled with love and warmth, starkly contrasts with Mike's puritanical views. Troubled by Nando's unconventional upbringing and Lucia's provocative nightlife, Mike sees only one solution - to bring Nando back to the States. Yet, as the backdrop of Naples pulsates with life and the rhythms of Lucia's cabaret echo in his mind, Mike's rigid stance begins to waver. Amid the Neapolitan allure and the familial ties he never expected to find, he navigates a path of self-discovery, cultural understanding, and unexpected affection. "It Started in Naples" is a captivating tale of family, culture, and love, unfolding under the Mediterranean sun, where life's surprises are as abundant as the city's vibrant energy.
