In the throbbing heart of Chicago, Kate Gunzinger, an accomplished yet overwhelmed college mathematics professor, stands at the crossroads of her life's labyrinth. Living with her boyfriend, Homer, a diligent builder, their relationship thrives on a philosophy of absolute freedom, leaving little room for emotional investment.
