In the heartwarming yet tumultuous comedy, "It's for Your Own Good" (2017), we meet the unlikely trio of brothers-in-law Arturo, Chus, and Hipólito, known as "Poli". Their tranquil and blissful lives are thrown into disarray when their daughters make life-altering decisions. Arturo's daughter, Valentina, abandons her groom at the altar to pursue a relationship with Álex, a free-spirited anarchist whose non-conformist ideals clash head-on with Arturo's staunch conservatism. Meanwhile, Chus grapples with the shocking revelation that his daughter Marta is romantically involved with Dani, a penniless troublemaker with a sketchy association with drugs. Poli's world is turned upside down when he discovers that his daughter Sarai is seeing Ernesto, a playboy and artistic photographer who also happens to be Poli's old schoolmate. Further stirring the pot is the fact that Alicia, Poli's wife, was aware of Sarai's secretive relationship but chose to conceal it. United by their protective instincts, Arturo, Chus, and Poli band together and hatch a plot to sever the unsuitable relationships their daughters are entangled in, naively oblivious to the ripple effects their actions will trigger within their families. This film is a comedic portrayal of three dads desperately trying to navigate the choppy waters of fatherhood, all under the well-intentioned but misguided banner of "It's for Your Own Good".
