Plot

In the era of the British Raj, nestled in the heart of rural India, lies a small village where a humble man, Bansiram, treasures a piece of land gifted to him by a benevolent Zamindar. This plot, steeped in tradition and sentiment, remains his pride, a symbol of his quiet defiance against the oppressive reign. Upon the Zamindar's death, his debauched son, driven by lust and avarice, sets his sights on Bansiram's sanctuary, describing it as a heavenly paradise, an object of desire he must possess. As the son resorts to desperate measures to seize what he cannot buy, Bansiram turns to the British for protection, managing to safeguard his cherished inheritance. With the passing of the Zamindar's son, a new challenge emerges in the form of his look-alike successor, Devraj, who inherits the estate and the lingering obsession over Bansiram's land. However, the plot is not a priority for Devraj, and years slip away while the restless spirit of the Zamindar roams in torment, awaiting resolution. When Devraj finally confronts Bansiram, he encounters an elderly man teetering on the brink of senility, whose only hope lies in his grandson, Chotu, who dreams of transforming the land into a prosperous alcohol business. Sensing an opportunity in this web of aspirations and conflicts, Devraj steps into the fray, setting the stage for a series of unforeseen consequences. "Isi Ka Naam Zindagi" paints a vivid picture of rural India under British rule, underscoring the struggle for power, the importance of heritage, and the unpredictable turns of life. It's an evocative saga of resistance and ambition, of the ties that bind us to the land, and the lengths we will go to protect them.
