Irrational Man (2015)

Abe Lucas is a respected philosophy professor and the latest addition to a small Rhode Island college's faculty. But Abe's depression is spinning out of control, and he's having trouble finding a reason to live. He slowly develops friendships and even a romantic entanglement in his new town, but tragedy strikes even as his depression is lifting. In an inexplicable act of intended generosity, Abe kills a cruel judge, but it's not a murder that will just rest unsolved. As he tries to rebuild a life worth living, Abe finds the people closest to him are beginning to grow suspicious.
