Plot

Amidst the shadowy pulse of New York City, Frankie Avery, an unyielding educator, finds herself ensnared in a web of chilling intrigue and dangerous attraction. A brutal murder has shaken her neighborhood, the partial remains of a young woman discovered in the garden adjacent to her apartment. The gruesome case lands at the doorstep of NYPD Detective Malloy, a man of enigmatic allure and questionable honesty. Propelled by a reckless curiosity, Frankie embarks on a perilous journey of intimacy with Malloy, a liaison that teeters on the brink of her safety. As Malloy and his partner delve into the crime, they suspect a serial killer is at large, a revelation that sends icy tendrils of dread through the city's veins. Despite catching Malloy in a deceitful act with potentially fatal consequences, Frankie's association with him deepens, blurring the lines between trust and suspicion. As their entwined lives unfold against the city's grim backdrop, evidence emerges suggesting a terrifying possibility - the man she's entangled with could be the serial killer himself. In this nerve-wracking tale of suspense, Frankie grapples with a growing distrust for the men that cross her path, including her own lover. The looming threat of the serial killer, the uncertainty of Malloy's true intentions, and her own precarious position in this deadly game, serve as a harrowing exploration of danger, desire, and the haunting question of trust.
