Plot

In the realm of fame, every celebrity must navigate the labyrinth of fan obsession. "I Think We're Alone Now" is a poignant documentary that delves into the lives of two such individuals, Jeff and Kelly, who believe themselves to be profoundly in love with the 80's pop sensation, Tiffany. We meet Jeff Turner, a 50-year-old Santa Cruz resident who, diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, has never known the companionship of a lover, and yet has been a faithful attendee of Tiffany's concerts since 1988. He fills his days by engaging in casual conversations with strangers on the streets of his hometown. In parallel, we are introduced to Kelly McCormick, a 38-year-old intersex person hailing from Denver, Colorado. She nostalgically reminisces about a supposed teenage friendship with Tiffany, viewing the pop star as her guiding light, the inspiration behind every decision she makes in life. Both Jeff and Kelly have been labeled 'stalkers' by the media and fellow Tiffany enthusiasts. "I Think We're Alone Now" invites you on a journey into the solitary worlds of these two characters, uncovering the roots of their enduring obsessions. This timeless tale of unrequited love weaves through comedic and emotional threads, exploring themes of desperation, isolation, and hope. Ultimately, it reveals the potent truth that belief in something, or someone, can often be a stronger force than the harsh realities of life itself.
