Richard Cooper, a man in the throes of a suburban middle-class existence, is suspended between the realms of his established domestic routine and the tantalizing allure of his unfulfilled desires. As an investment banker, he navigates the hustle of Manhattan only to return to the predictable comforts of home, shared with Brenda, his intelligent, attractive wife and their two adorable children. Despite the stability, their eight-year-long marriage teeters on the brink of a crisis, an echo of their bedroom's deafening silence. Brenda, the quintessential wife and mother, finds solace in the simplicity of cotton comfort, while Nikki, Richard's vivacious single friend from his bachelor days, dares to defy convention in sheer, lacy provocations.
