In the heart of Brooklyn, 1998, we find Sam Gold, a spirited twenty-year-old Hasidic Jew, living under the traditional roof of his parents and younger siblings. His path is seemingly set - studying to be a rabbi alongside his friend Leon Zimmerman - a destiny Sam resists, harboring a yearning for business to alleviate his family's financial burden.
