Plot

In the heart of the glitz and glamour that is Hollywood, unfolds a tale of dreams, deceptions and daring adventures in the last joint venture of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, "Hollywood or Bust". Malcolm Smith, a starry-eyed cinema enthusiast, renowned for his lucky streak, triumphs in a theatre raffle, winning a shiny new convertible. But his victory is short-lived as his ownership is disputed by Steve Wiley, a smooth-talking compulsive gambler. Desperate to clear his debts, Steve cunningly forges a matching winning ticket, hoping to swindle the car from Malcolm. Aspiring to win Malcolm's trust, Steve spins a web of enticing tales about his fictitious next-door neighbor, the irresistible Hollywood siren, Anita Ekberg. Intrigued by the allure of Tinseltown, the two men strike a deal to co-own the car and embark on a cross-country odyssey. Their journey is dotted with misadventures in various cities, from New Jersey to Chicago, Oklahoma and New Mexico, all the while shadowed by Malcolm's loyal Great Dane, Mr. Bascomb, who thwarts Steve's multiple attempts of ditching his travel mate. Their road trip takes an exciting turn when they hit Las Vegas and stumble upon the real Anita Ekberg. As Malcolm's luck gets tested in a thrilling game of craps, a new companion joins their ranks, the ambitious dancer, Terry Roberts, who finds herself entangled in a budding romance with Steve. "Hollywood or Bust" is a rollicking satire of Hollywood life, where dreams are woven, luck is tested, and nothing is as it seems. This cinematic joyride is as much about the journey as it is about the destination, filled with laughter, love, and the lure of the silver screen.
