Ricky Miller is an unassuming, introverted forty-something with aspirations of becoming a writer. He abandoned his only book after eighty pages and now manages a franchise diner, Debby's, in Los Angeles. Ricky's life is filled with mundanity; he endures disrespect from his employees, enjoys movie nights with his cat, and tolerates his boisterous best friend Seth Gallagher's less than stellar attempts at finding love. Ricky and Seth, both bachelors from high school, seem to have no prospects of changing their status anytime soon. Despite his cynicism towards the blissful couples in advertisements, Ricky ventures into the realm of online dating on ehappily.com. Much to his surprise, he connects with Danita, a mysterious and beautiful woman who shares his unique interests. Their connection seems almost too perfect, until Danita confesses she's unhappily married to a charming crime novelist and former Rabbi, Ben Jacobs. Their seemingly smooth journey towards a committed relationship takes a sinister turn as Danita suggests a shocking solution for their happiness - Ricky must kill her controlling husband. Ricky, with the ever-skeptical Seth watching his back, is left in turmoil. He must decide whether to risk everything for love and become entangled in this dangerous plot, or question if he's being manipulated in a deadly game of deceit and passion.
