Gundaraj (1995)

In the hustle and bustle of a small Indian town, lives Ajay Chauvan, a young man of dreams and hopes, with his loving parents and a doting younger sister. He is deeply in love with the beautiful Pooja, with the dream of one day calling her his wife. Heaving under the weight of his family's expectations, Ajay applies for a job in bustling Bombay, his every move choreographed by the rhythm of survival and love. Ajay, a vibrant spirit, not only stages dance programs but also partakes in gritty street fights to support his family. Amidst his struggle, a ray of hope shines through as he receives a letter summoning him for a job interview in Bombay. Overwhelmed by this turn of fortune, he attends the interview, securing the job and seeing his dreams on the brink of becoming reality. In a whirlwind of joy, Ajay visits a nearby temple to thank the divine, unaware of the impending storm that's about to shatter his world. His moments of serenity are interrupted when he finds himself ensnared by the law, identified by a woman named Pratika Jetley as a brutal offender who ravaged three young women on a college campus. Despite his vehement denial, Ajay finds himself in the unforgiving grasp of the court, wrongfully convicted, and sentenced to a grueling four years in prison. Emerging from the harsh confines of jail, Ajay returns to a home that is no longer the harbor of warmth it once was. He is greeted by the chilling news of his father's suicide, Pooja's untimely demise, and the startling disappearance of his mother and sister. The only trace of his past is his mentally unstable sister, locked away in an asylum. Driven by the flames of injustice and a thirst for truth, Ajay embarks on a quest to unravel the conspiracy that led to his downfall. He teams up with a stern police officer, a father grieving for his daughter, one of the rape victims. Together, they vow to expose the true culprits and bring them to justice, Ajay's determination unwavering as he sets out to clear his tarnished name and reclaim his shattered life.
