Plot

In the entangled web of desire and societal norms, the film "Green Chair" introduces us to Kim Mun-hee, a 32-year-old woman who has tasted the bitter fruit of divorce. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she succumbs to the allure of 19-year-old Seo-hyun, who views Kim as his inaugural encounter with love. Yet, their passionate relationship clashes with Korean law, which only recognizes sexual consent at the age of 20. Kim finds herself ensnared in the unforgiving grip of the law, arrested for the seduction of a minor. Following a brief spell behind bars, she is released, only to face the glaring lenses of the press and the expectant gaze of Seo-hyun. Thereafter, they seek refuge in a rented room, a sanctuary where they lose themselves in a whirlwind of ceaseless physical intimacy. As time weaves its relentless tapestry, Kim begins to grapple with the harsh reality that their relationship isn't built to last. The prospect of ending their affair emerges, casting a looming shadow over their secret hideaway. The movie "Green Chair" is a stirring exploration of passion, law, and the unbearable weight of societal judgment.
