As the golden opportunity of the Paris International Dance Exposition comes knocking in New York, a case of mistaken identity ensues, sending the invitation to the Club Ballé, a nightclub teetering on the brink of insolvency. Seizing this chance to resurrect their dwindling fortunes, club owners, Terry Moore and Duke Dennis, fully aware of the mix-up, embark on a daring escapade across the Atlantic. In their quest to transform their ragtag troupe of showgirls into a ballet ensemble, they enlist the services of Luis Leoni, a ballet tutor, and his sole student, Kay Morrow. The journey is further complicated by the presence of Mona, Terry's ex-spouse, who joins the journey to safeguard her alimony payments.
