In the harsh barren lands of early 20th century Mexico, the gritty outlaw, Johnny Madrid, narrowly escapes the clutches of death, rescuing Esmeralda, the stunning daughter of his would-be executioner, with assistance from Reece, a tough-as-nails female outlaw from the U.S. With the aggrieved hangman and a relentless posse hot on their trail, Johnny reconnects with his nefarious gang. Together, they intercept a stagecoach, robbing the passengers: the enigmatic American author, Ambrose Bierce, and the blissfully newlywed couple, John and Mary Newlie. As darkness descends and the desert chill sets in, fate converges all these disparate parties at a remote inn that doubles as a brothel. Unknown to them, this seemingly innocuous refuge is governed by a coven of vampires headed by the high priestess Quixtla, who has her sights set on Esmeralda. As the moon rises, a shocking revelation unravels: Esmeralda is the half-human, half-vampire princess Santanico Pandemonium, the desired heir to the vampire throne. Now, amidst the night's terror, the humans must stand united against the ruthless blood-thirsty creatures if they hope to witness the dawn.
