Plot

In the tranquil hamlet of Firecreek, Johnny Cobb, a humble farmer and dedicated family man, finds himself straddling the line between his peaceful existence and his side gig as a makeshift Sheriff, earning merely two dollars a month and donning a self-made badge. However, tranquility shatters when a band of ruthless drifters, led by the wounded Larkin, decide to set camp for the night. The gang, comprised of sadistic thrill-seekers, begin to terrorize the intimidated townsfolk, engaging in a horrific display of power and cruelty for their own twisted gratification. Despite Larkin's silent disapproval of his men's actions, he hesitates to assert his authority, fearing the fragility of his leadership. Cobb, otherwise gentle and reserved, finds himself at the receiving end of the gang's escalating brutality. The situation spirals out of control when Meli, a Native American woman with a biracial child, becomes the target of an attempted sexual assault by a gang member. Arthur, a naive stable boy, intervenes, inadvertently killing the assailant. To protect Arthur, Cobb places him under lock and key, but when he must leave town to be with his wife enduring a tough labor, he leaves the town at the mercy of the unchecked gang. This catalyzes Cobb’s realization that the time has come to stand firm against the terror, marking a pivotal turning point in Firecreek's tale.
