Plot

In the sweltering summer of 1789, the distant thunder of the French Revolution begins to echo through the grand halls of the Château de Versailles. Unperturbed, King Louis XVI, Queen Marie-Antoinette, and their courtiers carry on, their lives a waltz of luxury and excess. However, when whispers of the Bastille's fall penetrate Versailles' gilded walls, a wave of panic sweeps the court. Aristocrats and servants alike abandon the royal ship, leaving the regal family in a lonesome state of disarray. Among the deserters, there's one notable exception - Sidonie Laborde, the Queen's reader. Young, devoted, and utterly entranced by her royal mistress, Sidonie refuses to surrender her loyalty, even as the world around them crumbles. Unbeknownst to her, these tumultuous days will be her last in the illustrious company of her adored Queen. As she navigates the rapidly shifting tides of the court, Sidonie's unwavering devotion paints a poignant portrait of loyalty amidst chaos, capturing the final, fateful moments of an era on the brink of revolution.
