Fairhaven (2013)

Under the grey skies of Fairhaven, a quaint fishing hamlet nestled on the Massachusetts coastline, dwells Jon, a one-time football prodigy and college athlete, now stranded in the echoes of his youth. Age has etched its lines in his early thirties, and the vibrancy of yesteryears seems to have ebbed away with the tides. A flickering television screen echoes his pent-up frustration and longing as his childhood idol, Tom Brady, muses on life beyond Super Bowl victories. Jon's life intertwines with Sam, a fellow schoolmate, who's navigated the turbulent waters of early marriage, fatherhood, and divorce, all within the confines of Fairhaven. Contentment, for Sam, is a quiet home and his adoring daughter Cara, though the ghost of lost love haunts him in the form of his strikingly beautiful ex-wife, Kate. Dust stirs in their tranquil existence with the return of Dave, the third musketeer of their once invincible trio. Dave, who severed his roots with Fairhaven seven years ago, is drawn back to the town by his estranged father's demise. Armed with a Vegas-style plan to shake the funeral weekend's somber tone, Dave is intent on infusing a dose of life into Jon's introspective journey and Sam's solitary existence. However, as the reunion unfolds under the haze of beer and tequila, old ambitions and buried resentments resurface, and even Dave's relentless optimism can't shield them from the cold splash of reality.
