Plot

Drenched in the intoxicating aura of the 1985 music scene, rich with regrettable fashion, synthesized melodies, and heart-wrenching power ballads, Todd Lucas, a gifted musician with a dream as vast as the Midwest plains he hails from, embarks on a journey to the bustling heart of Los Angeles. Fueled by a passion for smooth R&B music and a burning desire for fame, Todd crosses paths with BJ Fairchild, a cocky saxophonist from The Valley, living a life more ordinary than the glamour he fancies. Two lone souls, they're an assortment of shattered dreams and unfulfilled ambitions, pathetic in their isolation. But when fate ties their paths together, they form Eternity - the most mediocre R&B duo of the 1980s. Their shared ambition becomes a beacon of hope in their otherwise bleak existence, a ray of light amplified by their best friend, Gina Marie, who grants them an opportunity that could change their lives forever. In a symphony of heartbreak and loss, the pair craft songs that redefine their genre, their personal turmoil echoing through the soulful tunes they create. Eternity isn't just a band, it's their journey, a testament to their struggle and the awkwardness of the era they're trapped in. As love threatens to tear them apart, their music becomes a bittersweet melody of their mediocre yet captivating journey, making Todd and BJ the unlikely heroes of the R&B scene.
