Their journey leads them to the heart of the island, where they meet the benevolent Mayor Waldo, his learned and hospitable daughter, Marion, and their fascinating dino-scholar friend, Zipeau. However, the brothers soon realize that the island, surrounded by treacherous reefs and storms, offers no escape. This revelation ignites a clash between their individualistic tendencies and the collectivist ethos of Dinotopia.
