In the sprawling cityscape of Los Angeles, the evening stillness is shattered when Arthur Mansfield, a successful businessman, answers the door only to be gunned down by a mysterious man in a Blue Streak messenger uniform. Unbeknownst to the assassin, Mansfield's daughter, Laura, home from her east coast education, catches a fleeting glimpse of the murderous spectacle. The subsequent investigation led by Lieutenant Brewster points to Mansfield's chief rival, Frank Niles, as the prime suspect. However, Laura, fueled by a thirst for justice and armed with her feminine charm, embarks on her own daring investigation.
