Delicatessen (1991)

Society has collapsed, and food is so unavailable that it's used in lieu of money. landlord of one building also has a delicatessen on the ground floor. While he's generally friendly with his tenants, there is a strange pattern of tenants occasionally going missing. When a newly-hired maintenance man falls in love with the landlord's daughter, she reveals the secret behind why he always has access to meat. Driven by their passion for one another, they join up with a secret resistance movement to overthrow not just the landlord but the corrupt systems of meat-eating that underpin the entire society.
