Plot
There's a book that has the power to kill anyone who's had their name written in it, and it's fallen into the hands of a bright high school student who sees the ambitious potential of the notebook. Light Yagami wants to cleanse the Earth of criminals entirely and rule as the god of this new world order. But doing so means that Light is putting his own ethical standards at risk. Not everyone is okay with what he's doing too. Light's father happens to be the chief of police in Tokyo, and a mysterious detective known only as L has been brought in to investigate.
