Once a master of deception, Tom Turner finds his life of swindling abruptly halted when a night's hustle targets an unexpected group - undercover policemen. Standing before the stern face of justice, Tom is presented with two stark options - the confines of a prison cell or the daily grind of a legitimate job. Opting for freedom, albeit reluctantly, Tom lands in the world of the postal service, assigned to the melancholic Dead Letter Office, a graveyard for undelivered letters. An unusual subset of these orphaned letters captures Tom's attention - letters addressed to God. In a twist of fate or perhaps a touch of divine intervention, Tom finds himself replying to these heavenly addressed letters, even going as far as sending money.
