It's been ten years since the story of manipulative saloon owner Al Swearenen and resolute Marshal Seth Bulloch last wrapped up, and the town of Deadwood is on the eve of celebrating South Dakota's introduction as a state. But even as the wild frontier town takes a major step towards growing fully civilized, it descends into a level of chaos and violence that rivals the worst nights in the town's history. George Hearst is now a senator, and he doesn't respond well when Charlie Udder refuses his offer for a real estate buyout. And he's willing to use all the forces at his disposal to get revenge.
