Darkest Hour (2017)

Based on real historical events, Darkest Hour takes place in 1940, during the depths of World War II. As clouds darken over Europe, and France falls to the invading Nazi forces, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain is facing down the prospect of a revolt within his own ranks over his handling of recent events. His resignation paves the way for the ascension of Winston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty, whose inner resolve and pugnacious demeanor seem a near perfect fit for the moment. But in order to navigate the country successfully through these dark events, Churchill must first make a difficult choice with enormous consequences for the entire world.
