In the wake of her father's demise, Alice, a nomadic sheep-shearer, finds herself drawn back to the decaying familial abode of her childhood nestled in the soil-rich heart of North Yorkshire. A decade and a half has elapsed since she turned her back on her ailing father and her elder brother, Joe, opting instead for a transient life, hopping from one farmstead to another. Now, Alice's reluctant return marks her final bid to reclaim the farmland she staunchly believes was pledged to her. However, her homecoming is far from welcoming. The once familiar homestead now stands as a chilling monument of time, its crumbling walls echoing with the muffled whispers of a tumultuous past. Alice is met with Joe's smouldering resentment, transforming their bond of blood into a bitter sibling rivalry. This contention is further intensified by the omnipresent spectres of their troubled history, casting long, mournful shadows over the disputed inheritance.
