In a world devastated by nuclear cataclysm, a band of predominantly US Air Force survivors embarks on a perilous voyage from the western United States to Albany, New York, lured by the faint hope of a radio broadcast. Led by the unyielding Major Eugene Denton, these stalwarts traverse the barren, radioactive wasteland in vehicles engineered specifically for survival amidst the ruins of civilization. Their journey, however, is not a solitary one. In the neon ruins of Las Vegas, an enigmatic young woman adds a touch of beauty to their bleak existence.
