However, this year, the landscape of their holiday season shifts dramatically with the arrival of Kate Reynolds, Jeff's new love interest. The girls are whisked away to the snowy peaks of Aspen to spend Christmas with Kate's affluent family, leaving Maggie grappling with an empty nest for the first time.
Kate's seemingly flawless persona and close bond with Mia make Maggie's absence all the more poignant. Witnessing the tension between Maggie and Kate, Sam proposes a pact: he'll help Maggie reclaim Christmas with her daughters, if she lends her graphic design prowess to a crucial business pitch he's preparing, aimed at reviving a formerly thriving Reynolds family company.
As they navigate the challenges of this complex family dynamic, neither Maggie nor Sam is prepared for the blossoming bond between them.
