Child 44 (2015)

It's the mid-1950s, and Leo Demidov's valor and courage in World War II and beyond has earned him a position of one of the Soviet Union's most effective police officers. While he's committed to the cause, he's refused to turn in his wife for dissident activities. It's a decision that ends up with him being exiled and taken off of his current case. But recognizing that his case indicates a serial killer targeting young boys, he knows that he can't just leave the case behind. With the help of his wife, Demidov investigates the case without the permission of anyone and threatens his already tenuous status.
