Plot
In the heart of Paris, two elderly gentlemen, Anselme and Victor, share a quaint apartment. Victor, a widower of eight years and a man of notoriously irritable temperament, enjoys partaking in trivial debates with Anselme, from the quality of cheese to the nuances of a sausage. Their mundane existence takes an interesting turn with the arrival of Anna Corelli, a vibrant vocalist. The apartment, once a stage for petty disputes, transforms into a rehearsal space, echoing with melodies and new dynamics. However, Victor's domineering nature rears its ugly head, forcing Anna to depart from their lives. Confused and helpless, Anselme grapples with the challenge of dealing with Victor's tempestuous mood swings. A poignant moment arrives as Victor decides to visit his wife's grave. Unbeknownst to him, Anselme makes a prior visit to the cemetery, leaving a bouquet of roses and a lover's message on the tombstone, stirring up a whirlwind of emotions and revelations.
