Plot

Pippa McGee, a twenty-nine-year-old travel writer, lives her life on the edge. Her carefree existence, filled with thrilling adventures and a vibrant sex life, is suddenly disrupted when her father, Malcolm McGee, suffers a heart attack. Despite their strained relationship, Pippa returns home, volunteering to temporarily fill in the vacant editor's post at one of her father's magazines. The catch? The magazine is Wedding Bells, a bridal publication founded by her late mother, a concept that horrifies Pippa, a self-professed commitment-phobe. To her dismay, she discovers the magazine is hemorrhaging, teetering on the brink of collapse. Now, she is faced with the daunting task of reviving it, either by injecting her own audacious sensibilities or adhering to the established norms. As Pippa navigates this unfamiliar terrain, she crosses paths with Hemingway Jones, a freelance photographer who shares her liberated views on sexuality. Their casual association soon evolves into a deeper relationship, putting her aversion to commitment to the ultimate test. Simultaneously, she contends with her father's primary vice-president, Ian Grey, who seems to mirror her father's ethos. As Pippa grapples with reviving the magazine and mending her relationship with her father, she uncovers aspects of her father's business that cast new light on her own choices. This journey from one magazine issue to the next, coupled with her evolving personal life, leads her towards a newfound understanding of herself and the value of the magazine. In the midst of this whirlwind, she is confronted with the possibility of a Mr. Right entering her life, challenging her 'live for the moment' philosophy. Will Pippa be able to redefine her views on love and commitment? Can she steer Wedding Bells back to success and reconcile with her father? Pippa's tale is a journey of self-discovery, love, and the unexpected turns life can take.
