Emerging from the depths of a subway station, Casper finds himself amidst a sea of petrified strangers. Drawn to the curious proclamation of a man offering a glimpse of the moon's wonders for a mere dime, Casper inadvertently scares him off, leaving behind an unattended telescope. With a mischievous twinkle in his ghostly eyes, Casper peers through the lens before embarking on a celestial adventure to the moon.
Touching down on the lunar surface, Casper is met with disappointment as he finds himself alone, with no man on the moon. As he surrenders to a nap, a swarm of diminutive moon men emerge from their subterranean dwellings. Capturing Casper in a manner reminiscent of the Lilliputians and Gulliver, they haul him off to their ruler, King Luna, in a wheeled cage.
Casper's friendly antics are mistaken for monstrous behavior by King Luna, leading to his imprisonment in the royal dungeon. Just as Casper's spirits wane, an army of animated trees launch an attack on the moon city. The moon men retaliate with a barrage of fiery missiles, but the tree monsters counter with water, breaking through the city walls.
With the battle seeming to tilt in favor of the tree monsters, Casper makes a daring escape. He slips underground and cleverly immobilizes the tree monsters by pulling their parts through the lunar surface and tying them in knots. The trees strain futilely against their restraints, marking a victory for Casper and the moon men.
In the aftermath, King Luna belatedly recognizes Casper's friendly nature and courage, honoring him with a knighthood for his brave defense of the moon men. As the moon city rejoices, the air fills with the melody of the Casper theme song, sung by all the moon men in unison, celebrating their newfound friend and hero.
