Plot
Blue Collar (1978) spins the tale of three factory workers – Zeke (Richard Pryor), Jerry (Harvey Keitel), and Smokey (Yaphet Kotto) – all laboring in the heart of a bustling automobile plant. United by their shared blue-collar struggles, they find solace in after-work beers and stolen moments of respite from the clutches of their familial responsibilities.
One night, under the influence of alcohol and a shared discontentment, they hatch a daring plan to raid the vault of their local union bureau, only to find a meager six hundred dollars as the fruit of their risk. Initially disappointed, they soon discover that their haul includes something far more valuable than cash: damning evidence against their very own union.
Provoked by the union's dubious claim of a ten thousand dollar loss from their robbery, the trio decides to turn the tables. They find themselves embroiled in a risky game of blackmail, standing against an institution that has been exploiting them all along. Blue Collar (1978) is a gripping narrative of rebellion, brotherhood, and the battle against systemic corruption.
