Plot

In the concluding act of Bob Rafelson's informal trilogy, following 'Five Easy Pieces' and 'The King of Marvin Gardens', Jack Nicholson adorns the role of a father, having previously portrayed a son and brother. In 'Blood and Wine', he steps into the world of opulence as a prosperous wine merchant. However, his wealth fails to veil his personal shortcomings - his chronic philandering that created a chasm with his wife, and his neglect pushing his son further away. Driven to the edge, he teams up with Victor, a seasoned safecracker, and they pull off a daring diamond necklace heist. But success breeds complacency and complacency breeds disaster. The stolen jewels become the catalyst that unravels his life further. His wife, suspecting another illicit weekend affair, stumbles upon his intentions to pawn the stolen diamonds. As the plot thickens, the line between his personal and criminal life blurs, setting off a chain of events that threatens to shatter everything he holds dear. 'Blood and Wine' is a tale of deceit, desperation and the dire consequences of one's actions.
