In the throbbing heart of New York, J.C. Wiatt stands as a formidable figure, a paragon of success. Known as the "tiger lady", she is a workaholic management consultant at Sloane Curtis, where her 80-hour weeks are as normal as morning coffee. Her life revolves around the corporate carousel, a world that is shared with her equally career-focused beau, Steven Buchner, an investment banker who thrives in the same relentless rhythm. Just as J.C. is about to ascend the corporate ladder, a peculiar inheritance disrupts her meticulously planned life. An unexpected bequest from a foreign relative emerges, not in the form of wealth, but a cherubic baby girl named Elizabeth. Initially resistant, J.C. grudgingly accepts the responsibility when the baby's courier takes flight, leaving her with the infant. The arrival of Elizabeth creates a domestic discord, causing Steven to exit stage left from their relationship.
