Plot

The 50th anniversary of the first moon landing is documented through a combination of archival footage and interviews. The science and operational needs of the Apollo 11 project were unprecedented at the time, but NASA had an additional parameter to contend with — the race against the USSR to be the first person on the moon meant that they had little time to complete the project. Despite all odds, they manage to get their operation off the ground — and the world watches as Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong are the first human beings to ever set foot on the surface of the moon.
