In the glimmering world of Hollywood's Golden Age, we meet Annabel Allison (Lucile Ball), the radiant star of Wonder Pictures. Frustrated by her lackluster publicity and the limelight stolen by a rival's engagement to a Marquis, she persuades the studio head to reemploy the notoriously eccentric publicity agent, Lanny Morgan (Jack Oakie).
