All of Me (1984)

As he celebrates his thirty-eighth birthday, Roger Cobb, a steadfast Angeleno lawyer, finds himself standing at the crossroads of his life. Born into modest origins, he has built a reputable career in Burton Schuyler's high-profile law firm, but he struggles with the monotony of serving the one percent. His true passion lies in music, yet he yearns for more fulfilling cases to satisfy his legal aspirations. The path to partnership opens up when he begins dating Burton's daughter, Peggy Schuyler, but his penchant for bringing his faithful dog, Bix, to work casts a shadow of doubt on his potential. His latest assignment introduces him to Edwina Cutwater, an affluent, single client with a reputation for selfishness. Edwina's life, despite her riches, has been marred by illness and an inability to truly enjoy her wealth. Now on her deathbed, she proposes an eccentric alteration to her will: her entire estate is to be left to Terry Hoskins, the attractive daughter of her stableman. Behind this unusual bequest lies a fantastical plan. Edwina intends to employ the mystical abilities of Tibetan swami, Prahka Lasa, to transfer her soul into Terry's healthy, young body, giving her a chance to experience the pleasures her wealth had previously failed to procure. However, Terry has her eyes set on Edwina's wealth and has no intention of surrendering her body. An unexpected twist of fate occurs when Edwina dies in the midst of an argument about the will, and her spirit, instead of finding its way into Terry, lands in Roger's body. As Edwina and Roger grapple with their new, shared existence, they are offered an unanticipated perspective into their own lives, leading to a rollercoaster journey of self-discovery and unexpected camaraderie.
