All About My Mother (1999)

Manuela's son Esteban is killed on his seventeenth birthday. He was on his way to get film star Huma Rojo's autograph. Spurred by grief, Manuela decides to return to her hometown of Barcelona to find Esteban's father Lola. She meets up with Agrado, a transsexual prostitute and one of her dear friends. Barcelona is full of other characters, too: Huma Rojo herself, a pregnant and HIV-positive nun, and Huma's lover Nina.
