Plot

As the eerie shadow of war looms over Europe in 1914, the bustling Luxembourg Station brims with anxious souls. Among them is a striking girl, Carla Vanitska—her passport bearing a different name. She's a Russian countess with a mysterious aura, seeking passage to Vienna, only to find that the station has closed its routes to Austria. Left with no choice, she settles for a ticket to Berne, her banknote denied in favor of gold or silver. In enters Captain Rudolph Ritter, an Austrian Intelligence Officer, played by the compelling Gilbert Roland. His mission: to unmask a clandestine Russian spy known as K-14, whose identity remains a riddle. Drawn to Carla's predicament, he steps forward, offering her a lifeline from his own pocket. Yet, as the days unfold, Captain Ritter's professional and personal worlds collide in a mesmerizing dance.
