Plot

In the heart of Bristol, Julie Nicholson, a dedicated vicar at St Aidan with St George, shares her life with her husband Greg and their children Lizzie and Thomas. Their eldest daughter, the vibrant Jenny, is building her own life in London, excitedly planning a future with her fiancé, James. On the morning of July 7, 2005, Jenny alters her usual subway route due to a fault on the Piccadilly line. This seemingly minor change results in a catastrophic turn of events as she becomes one of the 24 innocent lives lost in a brutal bombing at Edgware Road station by the sinister Sidique Khan. The city descends into chaos as more attacks claim additional victims. For Julie and her family, time stands still as they endure an excruciating wait for news about Jenny. The inevitable confirmation comes when Julie, accompanied by James, identifies Jenny in London, not by her face, but by her hand. Overwhelmed by grief and anger, Julie retreats to her sister Vanda's home in Reading, assisted by a compassionate taxi driver who, witnessing her sorrow, quietly refuses any payment. Despite her desperate efforts, she can never find him to express her gratitude. As the years pass, Julie grapples with her loss and her faith, leading her to step down from her ministry, her belief in God shattered by the senseless act that robbed her of her beloved daughter. Her heart is filled with an unforgiving rage towards the bomber, a wound that time fails to heal, a song for Jenny that remains forever unsung.
